Woke up super early thanks to the fact that we left the curtains open hahaha. The weather looked a bit cloudy but still nice.
Given that there were three of us in the room, it took some time for all of us to be ready. Today, all three of us (J, A and I) would be spending the day together. J was feeling much better after taking some meds the night before and getting a good night’s sleep.
Once we were all ready for the day, we headed down to get breakfast at the hotel coffeeshop. Our firm covers the cost of breakfast during our stay but all other meals are covered by us.
Our plan for today is to go to IconSiam which is located just across the river from our hotel. Our hotel has a free boat ferry that goes between the hotel and IconSiam so we hopped on that and it took us all of 5 mins to get across.

One the left is the little ferry boat we took and on the right is the view of IconSiam from the hotel dock.
IconSiam is a huge mall and while it has a lot of stores that we have back home, there are also a lot of local stores to check out. The stores range from inexpensive to moderate to the high end – from local souvenir stores to H&M to Louis Vuitton – it covers it all. There are even 2 Starbucks, a regular one and a Starbucks Reserve which had a river view sitting area (unfortunately it was closed due to rain).
We first went to the Takashimaya Department store to check things out there. I saw the cutest Moomin lunch box set that was on sale and just couldn’t resist. I didn’t know how much it was but I knew it was 60% off and so darn cute so I bought it. It turned out to be 295 baht or S$12! So cheap and so worth it.

This is what the set looks like, one large lunch box, 2 small lunch boxes and an insulated bag.
After we were done with Takashimaya, we started shopping the rest of the mall. The three of us did quite a bit of shopping, those two more than me lol. I did end up getting 4 tees from H&M and my fave MAC lipstick. I have loved the colour Cosmo from MAC for absolute ages but every time I tried to get it, it’s been sold out. I even tried to get it at Changi Airport the day before but they were sold out. Thankfully, the MAC store here had it so I finally got my Cosmo lipstick!!!
We decided to have a late lunch and headed to the basement of the mall were there were tons of food options but we had spotted a tempura place that looked really good. J & A ended up sharing a tempura platter that contained a ton of food for like 999 baht (about S$40) while I had 2 prawn tempuras and a bowl of rice for like 200 baht (S$8). It was all definitely work it because of the size of the prawns and seafood.
I meant to take a picture but we were just too hungry and taking a photo was the last thing on our minds lol.
After refueling, it was back to shopping. By this time we had pretty much covered most of the mall and decided to head up to the Starbucks Reserve. While it pretty much has the same menu as any Starbucks, the decor was definitely different.

This is the view of the entrance from the escalator that’s just there.

One the left it the staircase to the second level and on the right is the cool lighting fixtures on the second level.
After our coffee, we headed back to the pier to catch the ferry back to the hotel. We headed back to our rooms to drop off all our shopping. J & A decided to go for a massage somewhere near the hotel while I opted to stay back to chill in the room and to pack. I was still full from our late lunch, so I gave dinner a miss.
