New month means new colour scheme.

Went with a six box on one side layout and added a space for baseball scores. Lots of stickers were used in this layout this week.

I had a pretty short work week as both Monday and Tuesday were public holidays. Monday was for Labour Day (also known as May Day). It was actually on Sunday, May 1st but where I live, the government policy is that a public holiday falls on a Sunday then Monday is automatically a holiday too. Tuesday was Hari Raya Puasa.

May the 4th was also a special day (thought not a holidays) – Star Wars Day. I grew up in the Star Wars generation. I went to see the original 3 (Episodes 4, 5 and 6) when they came out in the movie theatres. I was 6 when Star Wars: A New Hope came out and I’ve been a Star Wars fan ever since.

May 5th was Cinco de Mayo and while my family doesn’t actually celebrate this, I always take note of this day because it is also my BFF’s eldest son’s birthday. And finally on May 8, it was Mother’s Day here. I know the UK and the US celebrate mother’s day on different days and for some unknown reason, we follow the US date. The reason I say this is because we were a former British colony so you would think we would follow the UK date but apparently not lol. It’s been a while since I’ve actually celebrated Mother’s Day given that my mom passed away back in 2009 but there are other moms in my extended family so they always get warm wishes from me.
