Last Saturday was my last lesson for my Korean Basic Level 4 course which meant I had my level test. I managed to score 88/100 which was a definite pass – you had to get 60/100 to pass. It’s taken me just little over a year to complete my Korean basic but it’s been well worth it.
I’ve been going for weekly lessons, every Saturday from 1 pm – 2.30 pm and there were four levels for Basic and 12 lessons for each level, so that’s a total of 48 lessons. I was fortunate enough to have the same teacher for each of my basic levels and about 7 of us stuck it out from the very first class till the end. We had a couple of people start out with us but then drop out and then a couple of people who joined us at different levels but also dropped out or switched classes.
Of the original 7, only 3 of us have decided to continue onto the Intermediate level and have opted to stick in the same class. Sadly we won’t be having the same teacher as there aren’t enough students for her class, but we are instead joining an “express” class which means we’ll be taking weekly lessons from 1 pm to 4 pm instead. It might seem a bit long and tough but I think it will help to keep us motivated. It will also mean it will take us half the time to finish the course. There are only 3 levels for Intermediate and each level is 11 lessons. Given that we will have 2 lessons each week, I should be able to finish a level in about 6 weeks.
I’ve a got a one week break before the new class starts but I might just do some class prep and revision before that lol.
